Turksat2A satellite, co-located with Turksat 1C at 42 East longitude, in operation since February 1st 2001. Turksat 2A is designed to fulfill future telecommunication needs over its 15 year expected life span, including Direct to Home TV (analog and digital), radio services and data transmission (Internet, IBS, VSAT etc.), with 32 high powered Ku-Band transponders (EIRP in excess of 50 dBW); 20 of 33Mhz fixed beam transponder (BSS bands) and 12 of 36Mhz transponders with 2 steerable beams (each FSS bands).

Operating from the 42 East geostationary orbital position, Turksat2A fixed coverage bridges Europe to Asia and the 12 spot transponders on 2 steerable beams, with interbeam switching capability among fixed and steerable beams, provide the flexibility to target market demand in the Middle East, Russia, India and Africa.
