General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre and Turksat A.S. have mowed their experiences in the field of geographic information technologies. The work of establishing "National Geographic Information Infrastructure" started for the use of common purpose of collection and presentation of geographic information by relevant institutions and organizations in Turkey. With the protocol signed between, Turksat, experienced in the field of communication satellite, and the Land Registry and Cadastre General Directorate on December 16, 2009, the project's feasibility study has been initiated. Under the Project, by establishing geographic information systems infrastructure at the national level an appraoprate technological developments, responsible public institutions and organizations submit their geographic information and specified content and exchange standards to respond to the needs of institutions and sector users, through common infrastructure is targeted. By this Project, Turkey's Geographic Information Infrastructure is predicted to be prepared in accordance with the International standards of the European Union's INSPIRE Directive. Completion of the project, along with our country's geographic information and geographic information systems incompatibilities, lack of data, and parts repeated, inter-agency coordination, lack of data limitations, policies, that e-government applications and will be completed in spatial component. Copyright and access rights, such as pricing issues will be resolved, and that e-government applications will be completed in spatial component. By the coordination of D.P.T. under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement, General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre with the participation of relevant government agencies conducted the National Geographic Information Infrastructure Project will be one of few projects in the world in this field. |
