“Technical Assistance Project for the Accessibility of Passenger Transport Services in Turkey” Introductory Ceremony Realizes

Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan, Türksat CEO Cenk Şen and ministry bureaucrats, attended the “Technical Assistance Project for the Accessibility of Passenger Transport Services in Turkey” introductory ceremony.

Minister Arslan stated that as a ministry, its priority mission is to establish the right for all citizens to benefit equally from services.

Arslan said that the mentioned project puts the focus on the people and that the project would cover all citizens whether they are disabled or not, young or old. Arslan added that after the project citizens with disabilities or limited movement would help in raising awareness at the highest level, because they would be more active and visible to the pubic in all aspects of life.  

The project, which is jointly financed by the European Union and Turkey, plans to improve the access of passenger transport services for elderly and disabled citizens. The project, which initially takes into consideration the elderly and disabled group, also aims to provide better access to passenger transport services for other groups that often have similar problems as well.
