The 6th Teknofest Aviation, Space and Technology Festival Teknofest, organised by T3 Foundation between 27 April - 1 May this year at Atatürk Airport, has ended.

With the participation of over 100 leading companies in the field of technology in Turkey, 332 thousand teams and over 1 million students participated in competitions organised in 41 different categories, including the Model Satellite Competition. Hosting over 2.5 million visitors, the event renewed its own visitor record.

The 8th Türksat Model Satellite Competition, which was organised by Türksat within the scope of the Teknofest event and saw the competition of 114 teams, was won by the Cervos 7B team from Hacettepe University. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the awards to the winning teams in the competitions. At the award ceremony organised on the last day of the event, the other winning teams received their awards from Selçuk Bayraktar.

During the five-day event, competitions, aircraft shows, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and seminar programmes were held. At the Türksat stand set up in the Teknofest exhibition area, visitors were informed about the process of launching satellites into space and their working principles with models of the Türksat 4B communication satellite and the Proton Rocket. In addition, the Ka-Band SOTM antenna system and Ka-Band mobile internet system, which are used for internet service on ships and operate over Türksat satellites, were introduced to visitors.
