Türksat, which leads Türkiye’s digital transformation, is renewing its cable infrastructure with fiber-to-the-home. While the fiber-to-the-home service, offered to 1 million households at the end of 2024, is planned to reach 2 million homes as soon as possible, Karaman became the first city where 100% fiber transformation was completed. Türksat continues its efforts at full speed to connect a total of 5.5 million households with 1 Gbps speed. The company will increase the length of its fiber optic cable to 30 thousand kilometers by the end of the year.
Türksat A.Ş., which leads Türkiye’s digital transformation, has accelerated its steps to bring 5.5 million households together with 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps) speed by transforming its cable internet infrastructure into fiber-to-the-home (GPON) technology within the scope of the “Next Generation Technology Transformation Project.” Within this project, Türksat will provide speeds of up to 1 Gbps, low latency, and uninterrupted connection with a long-lasting and environmentally friendly infrastructure in all cities where it has infrastructure. In this context, Türksat will carry out the infrastructure renewal work free of charge for all users with the fiber-to-the-apartment internet service it offers and will start a new era in data upload and download by replacing customer modems with next-generation fiber modems.
– Karaman Province Switches to 100% Fiber
Starting work for this purpose, Türksat completed fiber infrastructure work in 1 million households as of the end of 2024 and continues its efforts to bring 1.8 million customers together with fiber-to-the-home. Planning to reach fiber internet infrastructure in 2 million homes as soon as possible, Türksat first completed the 100% fiber transformation in the province of Karaman. Türksat has now begun to provide high-speed, uninterrupted, and secure internet of up to 1 Gbps throughout Karaman. With the “Next Generation Technology Transformation Project,” Türksat A.Ş. plans to meet the future internet needs of tomorrow with its future-proof fiber infrastructure and aims to deliver fiber infrastructure to 5.5 million households within this scope.
– 30 Thousand Km of Fiber by Year-End
Türksat continues to steadily expand its fiber optic cable infrastructure every year. The fiber cable length, which was approximately 21 thousand kilometers at the end of 2022, reached approximately 28 thousand kilometers in 2025. By the end of this year, the fiber length is expected to exceed 30 thousand kilometers. With this growth rate, Türksat ranks among the operators expanding their fiber infrastructure the fastest across Türkiye.
– High-Speed Internet to Homes
With the fiber-to-the-home internet it offers for individual users, Türksat meets the need for high-speed gaming, content production, and uninterrupted connection. Thanks to GPON technology, large file sharing in homes, high-resolution video uploads, and access to cloud-based applications are provided at 1,000 Mbps speed. For corporate users, it offers symmetric internet, high efficiency, and secure connection advantages.
