Türksat General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok stated that, as Türksat, they are working on close orbit (LEO) and medium orbit (MEO) satellites and said, "Satellite communication is now a fact of life. We have entered a period in which mobile, fiber and satellite services must be handled together." .

Türksat General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok spoke at the "New Generation Regulatory Approaches - Turkey Perspective" panel within the scope of the 14th International Electronic Communications Regulators Conference, which started at the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) with the theme "New Generation Regulatory Approaches". Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Türksat General Manager Ertok, BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, Turkcell General Manager Dr. Ali Taha Koç, Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal and Vodafone Chief Executive Officer Hasan Süel participated as speakers in the panel moderated by Deputy Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan.

-"The Importance of Satellite Broadband Internet Has Increased"

General Manager Ertok said that, as Türksat, they serve 3 million households with their own infrastructure and that they have delivered fiber infrastructure to 2.1 million households, adding, "We will increase fiber to the home to 50 percent in the next 3 years and to 100 percent by 2030. We will soon introduce OTT service." "We will start it," he said. Reminding that Turkcell and Vodafone have been using Türksat infrastructure for a long time within the scope of common infrastructure use, Ertok emphasized that they attach great importance to increasing the use of common infrastructure. Ertok stated that Türksat, along with its cable infrastructure, provided satellite communication services to Turkey with the Türksat 2A satellite in 1994, and pointed out that the importance of broadband Internet services via satellite has increased recently. Ertok said, "Broadband services, especially via satellite, continue to develop. Now, with technological developments, satellite broadband - data costs, which we call Ka band, have also decreased with the decrease in both satellite production and transmission costs. Currently, we can offer 1 Tb capacity on satellite and satellite per "mbit" "The cost of communication has dropped to $10. In this sense, we see how right it is to put Türksat 5B, which has a capacity of over 60 Gbps, into service to provide broadband internet," he said. Explaining that as Türksat, they deliver communication infrastructure to places that do not have communication infrastructure within the scope of universal services, Ertok underlined that the communication infrastructure to many regions is provided with direct internet connection via Turksat 5B satellite.

Türksat General Manager Ertok also pointed out that Türksat will increase its investments and said, "We will make agreements regarding Ka band capacity in the coming years. We will make our investments by not keeping satellite communications separate from the cable infrastructure."

-"High Potential in LEO and MEO"

General Manager Ertok emphasized that near-orbit constellations are also on their agenda and said, "There are new initiatives in both LEO and MEO. The potential is high. By utilizing this potential, 2.5 billion people who cannot communicate directly will have direct access to communication services. However, with regulatory regulation." "These opportunities can be used. We have entered a period in which mobile, fiber and satellite services must be handled together. Satellite communication is now a fact of life," he said.
