Türksat continues to develop and expand. Türksat Satellite Ground Systems Redundancy Center, whose construction works have been completed, was put into service with the participation of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. Minister Uraloğlu said that Türksat services, Stating that television, radio and internet services via Türksat satellites are provided by satellite antenna systems and satellite ground stations in Gölbaşı, Uraloğlu said, "In case of extraordinary situations or system-related emergencies, rapid We needed a redundancy center in a different location that is ready for operation and where all traffic can be transferred. For this purpose, we built the Türksat Satellite Ground Systems Redundancy Center with its antennas and subsystems ready for service on a land of 28 thousand 800 square meters in the Kahramankazan Space and Aviation Specialized Organized Industrial Zone. "We made it happen," he said.


Türksat 6A in space in June


Stating that the first national communications satellite, Türksat 6A, has successfully completed many challenging tests, Uraloğlu said, "As a result of our evaluations, ground delivery will take place in March 2024. After this stage, we aim to launch Türksat 6A into orbit in June, in line with the agreement made with SpaceX company. "When it begins service, we will further strengthen our leading position in the region by providing service to new geographies such as South and East Asia, which cannot be covered by our other satellites," he said.
Uraloğlu underlined that Türksat has carried out important work within the scope of value-added satellite services and said: "With VSAT, that is, small-scale data terminal services, we provide services through these terminals, especially to our village schools, in regions where the terrestrial infrastructure cannot reach. Many public institutions and private institutions We provide internet service via satellite to sector organizations with more than 4 thousand terminals. In addition, we carry out many R&D projects such as carrier tracking system, space object tracking system, high altitude platform, channel update system, Türksat positioning system with local and national resources. "As a service area, we also provide cable broadcasting services offered to the end user through Türksat."


13 million dollar investment


Türksat General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok stated that they had the opportunity to have geographical redundancy with the center in question and said, "We will continue to provide service with our systems located here, without any negativities, malfunctions or emergency service interruptions that may occur at our ground stations we serve in Gölbaşı." Ertok stated that the investments will continue to increase in the coming years. Following the ceremony, Türksat Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek and General Manager Ertok presented the model of the center to Minister Uraloğlu. The center, which was implemented to provide redundancy for Türksat-5B and Türksat 4B satellites, has a system hall with a 460 square meter white area within the building. Here, there is a 2 megawatt energy infrastructure, 2 9-meter satellite control antennas that can serve all satellites, and 2 7.6-meter television broadcasting antenna systems that will provide service to Türksat 3A, 4A, 5B and 6A satellites.
