European Space Agency (ESA) is an organization that researches Europe’s future in space and the benefits satellites can provide to humanity, while developing new strategies through collaborative projects. Founded in 1975, ESA also conducts work on the development of powerful launch vehicles and new spacecraft in cooperation with aerospace industries, national space agencies, and satellite operators in its member countries. The Ariane rockets developed by ESA have created a commercial market, particularly for telecommunications satellites and space launch services. ESA leads research in areas such as Earth’s ozone monitoring, ice cover observation, and ocean wind analysis. In this context, Meteosat, which provides daily weather updates for Europe and Africa was developed by ESA.
