The countdown has begun for the second TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, which was held for the first time at Istanbul Airport last year and is the second largest aviation event in the world with more than 550 thousand visitors. TEKNOFEST, which aims to transform Turkey into a technology-producing society and set out with the slogan "National Technology Move", will be held at Atatürk Airport on 17-22 September, under the leadership of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, the Ministry of Industry and Technology and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, with the support of Turkey's leading technology companies, public institutions and universities.
The promotion of TEKNOFEST, which is the second largest aviation event in the world with more than 550 thousand visitors last year, was held at the Atatürk Airport Private Hangars Zone with the participation of President of Defense Industries İsmail Demir, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation Selçuk Bayraktar, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mevlüt Uysal, Türksat A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Metin Çavuşoğlu and Türksat A.Ş. It was held with the participation of Research Development and Satellite Design Director Tayfun Dar as well as representatives of other stakeholder institutions.
TEKNOFEST Istanbul, where more than one million visitors are targeted, will host ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TAI, Baykar, İGA, İsbak, THY, TÜBİTAK, Türksat, as well as AFAD, BMC, Presidential Investment Office, Presidential Digital Transformation Office, DHMI, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Chief of General Staff, Havelsan, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Defense. The Presidency of Industries, Civil Aviation, STM, TEI, TR Motor, Turkcell, Turkish Aviation and Space Industry, Turkish Aeronautical Association and the Ministry of Transport provide support.
Within the scope of the event, where a prize money of over 2 million TL will be distributed, Model Satellite, Flying Car Design, Smart Places Hackatho, Unmanned Underwater Systems, Rocket, Fighting UAV, Robotic Fetih 1453, Artificial Intelligence, Mini Jet Radial Compressor Design, Swarm UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Efficiency Challenge Robo Taxi, Technology for the Benefit of Humanity, Robotics, Turbo Fan Engine Design, Hackİstanbul, Competitions will be held under the titles Travel Hackathon, World Drone Cup and Take Off. Middle school, high school, university teams and professionals can also participate in these competitions.
Applications for technology competitions will continue until February 28 at www.teknofestistanbul.org. Applications from teams from abroad will also be accepted for TEKNOFEST competitions. Material support and technical consultancy will also be provided to the competitive teams. Academic stakeholders of the festival include Boğaziçi University, Bursa Technical University, Gebze Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, Karadeniz Technical University, Medipol University, Middle East Technical University, Sabancı University, Selçuk University and Yıldız Technical University.
