Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Niger State Television, Telesahel, has moved its broadcasts to Türksat satellites, stating: “Today, this broadcasting step taken with Niger will further strengthen Türkiye’s media visibility in Africa and its export potential in the satellite sector.” In his statement, Uraloğlu provided information about Telesahel beginning its broadcasting operations via Türksat satellites. Under the new agreement, the channel has started broadcasting through Türksat satellites in both eastern and western coverage areas. He described the development as not merely a technical agreement but also a strategic step that carries Africa’s voice, culture, and news flow to the world. “This development is one of the clearest indicators of Türkiye’s strength and international credibility in satellite broadcasting,” he said.
Uraloğlu noted that Telesahel’s broadcasts are delivered via Türksat 4A, which stands out with its strong capacity and wide geographical reach. He emphasized that Türksat satellites now serve not only Türkiye’s broadcasting infrastructure but also that of the world. He further stated that Niger State Television’s preference for Türksat clearly demonstrates Türkiye’s technological advancement, broadcast quality, and commitment to uninterrupted service:
“The broadcasting agreement goes beyond technical cooperation between the two countries; it also supports cultural and diplomatic relations. Through Telesahel’s broadcasts, Niger’s news, cultural content, and development stories will now reach international audiences. Türksat is not merely a satellite operator but a communication ambassador building bridges between nations. Türksat provides broadcasting and communication services to many African countries, particularly Ghana, Nigeria, and Niger. Türkiye is no longer a country looking outward in satellite technologies; it is a country serving the world. Today’s broadcasting step with Niger will further enhance Türkiye’s media presence in Africa and its satellite export potential.”
