The Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, Ahmet Arslan inspected Turksat’s Main campus after it had been attacked by bombs during the coup attempt by the terror organization, FETÖ.

Mr. Arslan made note that Türksat personnel refused to give coup plotters any information at the expense of their own lives. He said “Our personnel was consciously aware of the task at hand and did not give information, great effort was shown in the name of giving support to the continuation of broadcast of broadcasters in our country.”

Minister Arslan stated that with the support of the citizen the attempts of a coup were repelled.  In order to stop the terror organization along with its collaborators, immense effort was shown regarding national broadcasters being by the government’s side and allowing for the continuation of information to reach citizens. He said “That night they wanted to halt broadcasts of many establishment who contributed and showed support to national broadcasts, particularly our distinguished establishment, Türksat. By using our technical personnel they wanted their support. Our personnel were well aware of the task at hand and did not give them the necessary support, in order for the continuation of our job to support this country’s broadcaster broadcasts, exceptional efforts were shown. And from this statement I would especially like to thank my colleagues.”

Mr. Arslan made note that because Türksat’s personnel were not willing to help them during the attempted coup led to the facility to be attacked. He said “They may have interfered causing damage to 4 of our satellite dishes, but due to the fact my colleagues didn’t give any sort of proper information they were not able to reach their target. They may have wrecked our antennas but despite this no disruption took place in Türksat especially in sending broadcast signals to the satellites.”
