As part of the visit made to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on February 10-11 by Vice President Fuat Oktay and other delegates, negotiations regarding the Financial Cooperation Protocol were discussed between the two countries. Within the scope of the protocol, besides the e-TRNC Program, collaborations regarding highways, municipalities and higher education were discussed.

Vice President Oktay was accompanied by the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Digital Transformation Office President Ali Taha Koç, Türksat CEO Hasan Hüseyin Ertok, Türksat Vice President Dr. Halil Yeşilçimen, Türksat IT Business Development and Project Management Director Ömer Faruk Çöllüoğlu and Program Manager Fatih Işık to the e-TRNC Program protocol negotiations.

The e-TRNC Program, which is one of the exemplary e-Government projects in the world in terms of the e-Government infrastructure being designed from the ground up, started with the first protocol signed in 2011. The new period in the program, which has made significant progress in the 10 year period under Türksat’s integration, has started with the current signing of the protocol.

After the new term protocol regarding e-Government services was signed between the Digital Transformation Office President Ali Taha Koç and TRNC Undersecretary Suat Yeldener, a joint press release was made by Vice President Fuat Oktay and TRNC Prime Minister Ersan Saner, where their message underlined “the importance of digitalization and reduction of bureaucracy.”
